<div>The purpose of this workshop is to improve the knowledge of the trainees on pest information management and data base system, as well as to develop the capacity to design useful pest information management system.</div><div>The training workshop will focus on introduction of information management system of the project participating countries as well as NPPO of Korea and basic lectures and practices related to information management, which will be followed by discussion session on desirable management system to be developed for every participating country.</div>

<p>Based on the training schedule agreed among participating countries at the Project Inception Workshop, the third regional expertise training workshop on pest surveillance is going to be held in Cambodia as a hosting country in November 2014.</p><p>The training workshop will focus on technical and practical survey and identification on “fungi” as a subsequent subject to “fruit-fly” and “stored product insect pest” adressed in the 2<sup>nd</sup> expertise training workshop.</p><p>About thirty participants including 25 trainees from six participating countries are expected to take part in the workshop.</p>

<p><strong><em><strong>During the APPPC Workshop on Building Understanding and Preparedness for Electronic Phytosanitary Certification it was agreed to establish the APPPC ePhyto Working Group. </strong></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Purpose of the working group</em></strong></p><p><em>The aim of the APPPC ePhyto Working Group is to ensure the development and implementation of ePhyto solutions throughout the Asia/Pacific region that are consistent with the IPPC.</em></p><p><strong><em>Membership</em></strong></p><p><em>Membership will consist of representatives from countries within the APPPC regions who have or are developing ePhyto solutions. Participating countries will nominate a principle ePhyto contact who will be the Working Group member. A secondary ePhyto contact may be nominated to provide support to the principle Working Group member.</em></p><p><em>Participating countries at present are: Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Rep of Korea, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand. Australia has accepted the initial chair position with Korea offering vice-chair support.</em></p><p><em>It is open to other countries to participate in the working group.</em></p><p><em><strong>Several Recommendations on an action plan from the APPPC workshop on ePhyto were developed.
