Approval of Irradiation Facilities

<p>This regional standard for phytosanitary measures provides guidelines to National Plant Protection Organizations (NPPOs) for approval (certification or accreditation) of facilities irradiating commodities for phytosanitary purposes consistent with <strong>ISPM No. 18 <em>Guidelines for the use of irradiation as a phytosanitary measure </em></strong>and <strong>ISPM No. 28</strong><em><strong> Phytosanitary treatments for regulated pests</strong></em>.</p><p>This standard was endorsed by the 28th Session of Asia and Pacific Plant Protection Commission (APPPC) in September 2013.</p><p>Regional standards for phytosanitary measures are developed and adopted by APPPC&nbsp;as part of the plant protection programme of the Commission&rsquo;s contracting parties. This programme makes available to contracting and other interested parties regional standards for phytosanitary measures to support regional harmonization, with the aim to facilitate trade and avoid the use of unjustifiable measures as barriers to trade.</p>
