Publication date Fri, 07/08/2011 - 14:07 Executive summary Executive summary <span>Thailand’s phytosanitary measures have been implemented in compliance with the Plant Quarantine Act B.E. 2507 (1952) amended by the Plant Quarantine Act (No. 2) B.E. 2542 (1999) and the Plant Quarantine Act (No. 3) B.E. 2551 (2008). </span> <span>Up to 2010, there are eight Notifications of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and twenty four Notifications of the Department of Agriculture. Those Notifications aim to strengthen the quarantine practices for both export plants and plant products and import prohibited articles.</span> List of key legislation/regulations/rules Files En Organization of the related functions Files En Infrastructure Files En En Key situation indicators Key situation indicators <span>During the period 2009-2010, there were outbreaks of pests including <em>Phenococcus manihoti</em> (Pink cassava mealybug), <em>Opisina orenosella</em> (Black headed caterpillar), and <em>Salvinia molesta</em> (Giant salvinia). In addition, the DOA conducted a detection survey of mango seed weevil, <em>Sternochetus mangiferae</em>. In dealing with the giant salvinia, the state agencies not only attempted to eradicate and control the pests but also closely monitored them.
